You are one. With me we are TWO.

I was very negative in my previous post. I almost sounded like there was no hope left for Malaysia or Malaysians.

But I was wrong.

Mr Hussein Abdul Hamid, who blogs at Steadyaku47, wrote a brilliant piece today titled You are one. With me we are TWO. It is inspiring enough to force me to reconsider to pull down my previous post.

Its the power of a single vote. Yours. Mine. With just a single vote, we can bring change. That's all we need from letting this country to rot further. Change.

After reconsidering, I have decided not to pull down my previous post. I am leaving it as it is, so that each time I read that I shall be reminded of change. And the power of a single vote.

Isn't it so cool that so many of us are carrying Hussein's brilliant post? If it's spreading like wildfire in cyberspace - think of what more we can do with our vote!

    Peace!

You can't just change your mind over Malaysia after every Tom, Dick and Harry writes something different about the country every alternate days, 'macam lalang ikut angin'. As far as I know, you are a person with principles but your previous post was kinda off. Glad you realized that.

And speaking of the Indian community,I believe at some point in our lives both of us supported the Hindraf brothers for the sacrifices they made, but things changed for the worst. I do not need to elaborate further on this as i believe you are aware of what has happened to this once honest NGO movement. What saddens and hurts me the most is the fact that they've succeeded in changing the perception of others towards the Indian community from a determined group whom are no push-overs(November rally)to a bunch of untrustworthy, selfish traitors who are only making noise for money and self-gain. I used to educate my friends on what Hindraf really is about and why they're legally in the position to take on the Malaysian government. But now I'm just too embarrassed to even mention the word Hindraf.

Do you share my thoughts regarding this matter? Honestly speaking I've stopped leaving comments in blogs, especially those Indian blogs that i used to frequent, but i just had to come here and say something because it is quite obvious to me that you are different from the others particularly when it comes to your language and intelligence in debating.

    have a nice day

Hey I didn't know you still read my blog! ;)

Honestly, about Hindraf, the only reason why I am not supporting them anymore is that they failed to take on the multiracial approach.

It was alright when they campaigned vigorously to highlight the plight of Indians, but sometime after the general elections last year, or more recently after the release of the H5, I kinda expected them to take a multiracial approach.

I have two reasons for that. The first, many non-Indians supported and respected the Nov 25th rally. Non-Indians started respecting the Indians after that, why in my town Sungai Siput people even started smiling at Indians.

My second reason is that a lot of people from all kind of backgrounds campaigned for the release of ISA detainees. Remember all the candle vigils started by Haris Ibrahim and Zorro? Remember GMI? Shouldn't we thank them?

But as soon as the H5 were released everything went to Indian that and Indian this. Uthaya started HRP, which he said will serve all marginalised and deprived. But his party's motto on the party's site http://www.humanrightspartymalaysia.com/ is "Focusing to put working class Indians into the National mainstream development of Malaysia". I don't mind him starting a political party - Hindraf is banned and if they want change they need a political party - but why only Indians? Everyone fought and braved cops during candle light vigils for your release.. why only Indians?

I have written more here: http://sactyr.blogspot.com/2009/04/at-crossroad-of-principles.html

I agree that Indians are still marginalised, but we need to support from others if we were to help Indians.

With regards to Kg Buah Pala, the whole affair has messed up Hindraf's reputation rather than DAP's. The developers actually came back with a compensation package despite the court telling them they may proceed with demolition without any compensation. If it wasn't for LGE, do you think any developer would even do that? Hindraf keeps telling that LGE could have done something to help them, but if LGE blocked the project, Nusmetro is going to sue them for millions. Who is going to pay that if not Penangites? And will the KBP folks and Hindraf be looked by Penangites sympathetically ever? No.

About Hindraf being a traitor and all, I am not sure. I will need solid proof I guess. Waytha couldn't come back because Malaysian authorities have officially blocked him. But please do update me on why Hindraf is now deemed to be dishonest. I have kinda stopped following them for past few months.

I don't support PKR, but I support Pakatan Rakyat, that too in the presence of BN. But Pakatan Rakyat needs to do a lot of work before it can receive my unconditional support.

When PR does come to power and BN gets relegated as the opposition, I will start scrutinising PR and support BN.

My aim (as with other Barisan Rakyat bloggers) is to see the rakyat win in any way. So technically, you can say that we support the rakyat and we will scrutinise the government of the day.

really sorry for the delay..have been tied up with life :)
i feel that both the opposition and the gov complement each other really well in terms of stupidity. U have one party getting all worked up over petty issues; and they just fight for the sake of fighting.. they are not making any difference...
U say that by supporting PR, the rakyat wins? At the end of the day, whn thy finally win, WE WILL BE THE LOSER.If ur from selangor, u can actually see changes taking place..petty, dumb issues..
There are signboards in klang which reads~air hak kita, jangan biarkan mereka rampas hak kita..or sumthing like that..in short, the only thing that they are doing is criticizing teh previous admin..
i just wish we cud revamp the whole system and start fresh..declare a darurat, or whatever..Select MPs that are as nt dumb as the kinabatangan guy, or the whole parliment hse for the matter
Fight for something that matters! This is my stand..i hv lost hope wt the oppositions
