PETALING JAYA: MIC leader Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu and Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo were involved in an angry exchange with a group of abusive hecklers yesterday.
Samy Vellu was speaking before the ground-breaking ceremony for SJK (T) Seaport, Petaling, when they started hurling abuses at him.
The MIC leader smiled and waved at them.
When Dr Khir took to the stage, he told off the hecklers.
This angered the hecklers who became more aggressive, with some attempting to move towards the VIP stage.
The hecklers were unhappy over the size of land allocated for the school. They claimed that the government had promised 3ha but only set aside 0.6ha. Dr Khir tried to explain that the size had actually been increased from 0.4ha.
Dr Khir Toyo also presented a cheque for RM2 million to Samy Vellu to build 22 Tamil schools in the state.
The Education Ministry has topped this up with another RM2 million.

Let me get this straight: Khir Toyo said 0.4ha initially, then he promised to increase to 3ha and then finally reduce back to 0.6ha??? WTF???
And then he gave RM 2mil to Samy to build temples. Why Samy? Samy is the Works Minister, not the Education Minisiter. Third point is that Education in our country is a federal government's responsibility, not the state's. Another point is that Khir Toyo is a CM, meaning he is responsible for state affairs. So how come he is handling money for something which is not entirely in his jurisdiction, on top of that he has given the money to a Work's Minister and not the Education Minister? The same question should be asked to the Education Ministry: Why did they give it to Samy?
See for yourselves. This is how money which should rightly reach the schools are going to Samy's pockets. Next time you guys read the newspaper always ask questions!!!
Anyway kudos to those who "hurled abuses" to Samy and Toyo. Well how would you feel when your children complain that the new school just got smaller??
